Our Mission

Preparing students no matter where they are in their educational journey

The Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG) funding is the foundation for 71 statewide consortia to design a comprehensive approach to adult education. The AEBG Office includes leadership from the California Department of Education and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.

Our Mission: California adult educators in K-12 and community colleges work synergistically with workforce and education partners, community stakeholders and industry through the Adult Education Block Grant’s (AEBG) 71 consortia to ensure that students are prepared for life, for work and to support their families and strengthen communities, no matter where they are in their educational journey.

Educate & Elevate

The AEBG Office is a proud partner of the national Educate & Elevate campaign, sponsored by the Coalition on Adult Basic Education and the National Council of State Directors of Adult Education. The goal of Educate & Elevate is to help inform the nation about the importance of how adult education supports adult learners, employers and communities, as well as the adult education innovations taking place in each state.  More information on the national campaign may be found at www.educateandelevate.org
